Privacy policy

1. Who the data controller is

T4um is an informal group of Volkswagen T4 enthusiasts, not incorporated as an association. The controller of the data collected through this site is Riccardo Guzzo, the group’s contact person for the t4um.it website.

2. What data we process and why

Browsing data. When you visit the site, the hosting service (Vercel) automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser, requested page, date and time. It is used only to show you the pages and to protect the site from abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running and securing the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is kept by Vercel for the short period set by its systems.

Visit statistics, only with your consent. If you click “Accept” in the banner, we turn on two statistics tools. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits in aggregate form (pages viewed, referring site, approximate location down to the city, device type, operating system and browser): it uses no cookies and does not let us identify you, because the technical identifier used to tell visits apart is discarded after 24 hours. Google Analytics 4 collects similar data (pages viewed, visit duration, referrer, approximate country or city, device and browser) using “_ga” cookies, which contain a random browser identifier and last up to 2 years. Google’s advertising features are turned off, Google does not store the full IP address and the data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics (14 months at most). If you withdraw consent, the “_ga” cookies are deleted. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with the “Manage cookies” button in the footer.

Emails you send us. If you write to info@t4um.com, for instance to send us photos from meet-ups, we process your email address, the name or nickname you sign with, the content of the message and any attachments. We use them to reply to you and, for photos, to publish them on the site with the credit you give us. Legal basis: your request and your consent to publication (Art. 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep messages for as long as needed to handle the request; photos stay published until you ask us to remove them. If other recognisable people appear in the photos, send them only if those people have agreed.

3. What we do not do

• There are no sign-up forms, accounts or newsletters.
• We do not use advertising or profiling cookies.
• We do not sell or hand over data to anyone.

4. Who receives the data

Vercel Inc. (hosting and statistics) processes data on our behalf as a data processor. Vercel is based in the United States: data is transferred outside the European Union under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Analytics, only with your consent) processes the statistics data on our behalf as a data processor. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Emails go through the email provider of the info@t4um.com mailbox. Data is not disclosed publicly, except for the photos and credits you ask us to publish.

5. Forum, Facebook, Telegram and community apps

The forum (t4um.com), the Facebook group, the Telegram channel and the apps in the T4pp section are services separate from this site, each with its own privacy policy. When you follow a link to them, that service’s policy applies.

6. Your rights

You can ask at any time to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, receive it in a readable format or object to its processing, and you can withdraw any consent you gave (Articles 15-22 GDPR). Just write to info@t4um.com: we reply within 30 days.

If you believe your data is being processed incorrectly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of the EU country where you live.

7. Changes

If we change how we process data, we will update this page and the date above.
