Software written between one oil change and the next.
Some t4um members do not stop at writing on the forum: they build their own apps and share them with everyone. They come from real needs — thought up while lying under a T4, hands covered in grease.
The apps below were built by CiekkoVanBarbon, a member of the community, whom we warmly thank for the work and for making them available to everyone. They are independent projects: T4um is glad to feature them, but is not responsible for how they work or for the data they handle.
01T4 Service App
A PWA designed as a personal maintenance scheduler for the T4, to keep track of the work already done and of what is coming up, without relying on memory or scattered bits of paper.
- Log each job (oil change, timing belt, injection pump…) with date and mileage
- The vehicle’s history always to hand, on your phone
- Works out the next service due dates automatically, by time or by mileage
- Warns you ahead of the deadline — not right on it, not after it
A minimal, no-nonsense interface, built for the daily use of an owner-mechanic who looks after their own vehicle.
02VCDS Log Analyzer
A Windows desktop application, built with Electron, for in-depth analysis of the VCDS diagnostic logs produced by Volkswagen T4 TDI engines.
- Imports the log files collected during VCDS diagnostic sessions
- Interactive charts (Chart.js) for boost pressure, coolant temperature, engine speed and other parameters
- Useful both for pinning down a single fault and for comparing sessions (e.g. before and after a repair)
- NSIS installer for Windows, nothing to configure
Born out of a concrete need: during real work on a T4 2.5 TDI AJT (timing, injection, diagnosing faults such as the P1248), having a visual tool to read the logs made diagnosis far quicker than reading tables in the original VCDS software. VCDS is software by Ross-Tech: the Log Analyzer is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Ross-Tech.
